Ali adds two new Fall TV credits
Another fall season in the books with two amazing TV shows featuring Ali in co-star roles. Thanks to the rockstar team at the Hell’s Kitchen Agency, Ali was lucky to book small speaking roles on Showtime’s LET THE RIGHT ONE IN and Peacock’s POKER FACE. Both roles are variations of similar occupations (paparazzo vs. sports reporter), but different in their personification and professionalism.
LET THE RIGHT ONE IN is a TV adaptation of the acclaimed Swedish vampire novel and film of the same name starring Academy Award Winner Demián Bichir and Anika Noni Rose. In this show, Ali had the pleasure of working with director Eva Sørhaug (Your Honor, Witch Hunt), and was cast as a sleazy paparazzo trying to sneak past security officers at a high-profile funeral. The editing gods were sadly not kind this time around and the scene in question ended on the cutting room floor, but Ali’s name appears in the end credits for episode 4 titled “Outings”.
POKER FACE is a mystery-of-the-week series created by Rian Johnson (Glass Onion, The Last Jedi) which follows Natasha Lyonne’s Charlie Cale, a human lie detector who unwillingly stumbles upon a new cast of characters and strange crimes she can’t help but solve. Ali plays a sports reporter on the scene of a competitive dirt race championship in the seventh episode titled “The Future of the Sport”. While Ali’s appearance is brief (you can hear him interviewing Tim Blake Nelson’s character in a post-race press conference), the experience of being on set for this offbeat episode and working with director Iain B. Macdonald (Shameless, Shantaram) were absolutely rewarding. Here are some behind-the-scenes pictures from the location up in Fishkill, NY last June.
Ali is grateful for all the trust and support from his team as well as the cast and crew from both shows. Be on the lookout for more high-profile titles added to Ali’s resume in the near future.
