Ali joins "Sensitive To Bite" reading
Ali is proud to add another stage reading to his repertoire with a new play by Eljon Wardally called “Sensitive To Bite”. Set in a bodega on the Lower East Side of NY, the play tells the story of a budding feminist and her conservative husband as they struggle to sacrifice remnants of their past in Syria for the sake of their uncertain future in the US. The reading is directed by May Mroue Adra, and joining Ali is a talented cast of actors featuring Monna Sabouri, Carl Hendrick Louis, Peter Romano, and Carolina Do.
"Sensitive to Bite" is being presented as a part of the Crashbox Theater Company's second annual Playwright Sponsorship. The Playwright Sponsorship was created as a way to bridge the gap that exists between a public reading and full production. Each year, Crashbox sponsors a play that has received a reading with them and dedicates resources aimed at curating a program to fit that playwright’s individual needs to further develop and promote the script. Eljon Wardally has been selected for the 2019 Playwright Sponsorship in collaboration Project Y Theatre’s Women In Theatre Festival.
The stage reading will be taking place on June 18th at the ART/New York Theatres at 7:30pm. Event and ticket details can be found at the link below. We look forward to seeing as many of you there.
